devils.one are the ESL EuroCup 2019 Finals champions, having defeated League of Legends rivals EURONICS Gaming 3 – 2 in an explosive grand finale yesterday. The ESL EuroCup kicked off on Friday in Italy and featured four of the top European League of Legends teams out there. devils.one take home the trophy and also the top prize of $5,000 USD.  

devils.one gloriously defeated EURONICS Gaming in the ESL EuroCup 2019 grand final yesterday in what turned out to be a tightly fought, nail-biting grand final match, ESG running devils.one extremely close, but ultimately losing out 3 – 2 when the game came to a close. The four teams that took part were the Samsung Morning Stars, Defusekids, EURONICS Gaming, and devils.one.

The Samsung Morning Stars were representing the host nation Italy, while the other three teams qualified for the competition through the ESL EuroCup Playoffs which took place back in September. The draw for the ESL EuroCup 2019 Finals was made and EURONICS Gaming were paired up with hosts SMS in the first of the two semifinal match-ups. devils.one were paired up against Defusekids in the other.

As League of Legends fans watched on, ESG defeated SMS 2 – 1 in the first of the semi finals, ESG having taken the lead before SMS pulled on back to tie the round. Home field advantage proved to be a myth however, ESG proving too strong in the end and taking down the win and booking their place in the grand final.

In the other semi final devils.one faced off against what was considered to be a strong Defusekids team, who rolled over making it easy for a sharp-looking devils.one team. The final score was 2 – 0, sending Defusekids home and devils.one on to what looked to be an explosive finale.

League of Legends fans were not disappointed, the ESL EuroCup 2019 Finals turning out to be even more exciting than could have been hoped. The Bo5 final round 1 went to devils.one, as did the 2nd making the score 2 – 0 to devils.one. ESG were under pressure. They managed to summon the strength from somewhere however, and rallied back over the next 2 rounds to tie the match at 2 – 2. The final round could have gone either way, both teams piling on the pressure. devils.one were able to channel their demons however, and hold fast, running out eventual round 5 winners, and the ESL EuroCup 2019 champions.
