The GLL Grand Slam PUBG Classic has come and gone and a new champion has been crowned. The GLL Grand Slam wsaw 18 action packed matches take place, as teams from different regions battled it out to prove their class. Tensions were high and teams performed on new levels, 16 teams going in, and only one emerging as the grand champions. FaZe Clan took the title in the end as well as top prize of $130,000.

Day one kicked off with a massive win for Natus Vincere who blew away the competition with 14 kills as they made their mark early in the game against Tempo Storm, who were coming in hot to attempt to swipe the win for themselves. Team Liquid followed them up with a nine-kill win against RED Canids, and match three saw a big win for The Rumblers, who had been fighting to make an impact early on. Despite coming away with only five kills, they claimed what proved to be valuable points in the long run.

Their win was followed by another for a North American side, SpaceStation Gaming, who picked up 13 kills against tough competition. The end of Day 1 saw The Rumblers win again, and Ghost Gaming picked up their first win of the event. The NPL teams picked up some great wins in the end setting things up nicely for Day 2.

Day two kicked into high gear with a win for G2 Esports, who had been looking to significantly climb the leaderboard. The managed to put eight kills on the board as they took down Atletico on the hills of Erangel and in the second match of the day, FaZe Clan finally found their first win after several matches of consistent play. Two 10 kill wins in a row fired them to the top of the leaderboard though the margins were razor thin as the Grand Slam rolled on.

G2, Atletico, and Natus Vincere closed out the day with easy wins as well setting up for an action packed and exciting Day three.

With six matches remaining, it was still anyone’s game. Bitloft came up with a big 10-kill win in the first match of the final day. Bitloft’s win was followed up by wins for Natus Vincere, Athletico, Natus Vincere again, and then surprisingly a first win for Cloud9 who had been jumping up in matches. Finally, they pulled together and earned themselves a hard fought win. After some intense fighting and tough battles, ultimately the title came down to the final match.

The final match went the way of Faze Clan in this year’s GLL Grand Slam PUBG Classic, who claimed only their second victory with 11-kills. Having collected enough points from all other aspects of the game, this second win was ultimately enough to send FaZe into first place, finishing off Team Liquid with ease.
