League-of-Legends-patch-notes-9.23-update

The latest League of Legends update, Patch notes 9.23 will shift the meta dramatically, with changes to Summoner’s Rift, Epic Monsters, Lethality and Support items, experience, and Runes. Riot Gaming is holding off on changes to champion buffs and nerfs in this update, but expect plenty of changes that will shift the hierarchy and tier lists around.

League of Legends Patch Notes 9.23 will introduce many new changes which we will go through below, including for example the new Elemental Rifts mechanic to provide more game-to-game variety, Riot games hopes. When the second Elemental Drake of the game is defeated, the game-map will permanently transform Summoner’s Rift landscape with unique terrains representing one of the four elements; fire, air, water and earth, or, in LoL speak, Infernal, Mountain, Ocean, and Cloud Rifts.

This transformation will trigger after the second Elemental Drake dies, after the third is announced. The Rift Elements will be the same as the element of the third drake. Once the map has transformed, all the future Elemental Drake spawns will be of that same element only. Terrain changes will always occur in the four jungle quadrants, centered around the buff camps, as well as in the dragon pit.

Each element will alter the jungle map in their own unique ways. The Infernal Rift will burn away brushes and create new pathways while simultaneously widening the Dragon pit. Ocean Rifts increase the size of brushes for extra ambush potential. Mountain Rifts will create tighter spaces to give easy access to AoE combos and Cloud Rifts create air currents that grant speed boosts to any nearby players.

Another small change is that new alcoves have been carved into the outer corners of the top and bot lanes with hopes to increase playmaking opportunities. As teams approach and contest objectives, the new brush patches near the blue buff ramps into river add new strategic and tactical options.

There will be changes to the Elemental Drakes buffs, for example the Mountain buff will no longer deal bonus true damage to towers and monsters, rather giving additional armor and magic resist instead. There will be changes to the Elemental Drake mechanics, the Elder Dragon and much much more.

There are so many small new updates and changes in the latest League of Legends Patch notes 9.23 that LoL players will have to readjust their thinking.
