ELEAGUE have announced today that they will be producing and broadcasting a Rocket League mini-series which will be aired on TBS next year. The mini-series will cover the Rocket League Championship Series 7 and 8 and is set to air late in 2019.

Turner Sports Esports brand ELEAGUE have announced today their intention to produce and air a Rocket League mini-series, continue its pairing with Rocket League developer Psyonix. It is their intention to produce and broadcast a mini-series that will cover the Rocket League Championship Series 7 and 8 and it is their hope that the series will be set to air in late 2019.

On top of this, ELEAGUE announced that TBS will broadcast the upcoming Collegiate Rocket League (CRL) championships. The CRL will feature college teams from around the USA, competing for a spot at the NCAA Final Four Fan Fest, to be held in April in 2020.

Turner Sports has, over the years, been one of the forerunners of bringing esports to live television, recently broadcasting a CS:GO League live on their channel, TBS. The Rocket League Series 7 will be the third Rocket League series hosted by ELEAGUE; previously, the channel has televised two ELEAGUE Cup events for the esport in late 2018.

One interesting revelation of these announcements is that ELEAGUE is continuing to move away from live-coverage of esports, instead trending towards pre-recorded content and matches. Jeremy Dunham, Psyonix VP made the following statements regarding the partnership at a recent press release:

“We’re excited to bring Rocket League Esports and the Rocket League Championship Series to new television and collegiate audiences. This is a significant step forward for our sport and ongoing relationship with our partners at ELEAGUE. We’re excited to see what the future will bring!”

This step is yet another example of how esports are exploding and expanding more and more into the public eye, something esports fans can be very happy about. We at Esportsnow will be very excited to see what this mini-series turns out like and will be keeping a very close eye.
