ENCE and NRG Esports were the first two teams to qualify for the New Legends Stage at the StarLadder Berlin. Both teams swept their Bo3 series in round 3 of the New Challengers Stage on Friday making them the first two teams to qualify for what is essentially the playoff stages of the StarLadder Berlin Major CS:GO competition.

ENCE and NRG beat DreamEaters and Ninjas in Pyjamas to advance from the New Challengers Stage on Friday, eliminating both loses from the competition. The major CS:GO event has a total prize pool of $1,000,000 USD and will see eight teams progress from the New Champions Stage to the final New Legends Stage in what has been a Swiss-System format competition.

Sixteen teams qualified for the New Challengers Stage last week but only eight will progress on to the playoff stages. Below you can see the standings after the final game of the New Challengers round:

ENCE and NRG will be joined by 3 & 1 teams Astralis, Team Vitality and AVANGAR. Team Liquid, Natus Vincere and Renegades all scraped through with a 3 & 2 record, making up the top eight teams. Mousesports, G2 Esports, CR4ZY, MIBR, FaZe Clan, North, NIP and DreamEaters all fell short and have been eliminated from this major CS:GO event.

The playoffs therefore look like this:

Astralis and ENCE came into the competition as clear favourites after finishing 1st and 2nd respectively at the Intel Extreme Masters XIII in Katowice back in March. Astralis claimed the top prize of $500,000 with ENCE claiming the runners up prize of $150,000. However ENCE and NRG are the current in-form teams. Can they be stopped or will the Grand Finale end up being too EZ4ENCE?
