Team Spirit are back in Dota 2 after signing the entire Positive Guys roster this week. Team Spirit has been a constant in Dota 2 since 2016 until dropping their entire roster back in August. This week marks their long awaited return, and they are ready to rock Dota 2 with their brand new squad.

Team Spirit have always been a constant presence in the Dota 2 CIS region, having fielded a roster in every season since 2016, with varying degrees of success. This lasted until last August when Team Spirit dropped all their players, the organisation taking no time to make their return. In order to do this Team Spirit have signed Positive Guys, a squad of players from the CIS that formed after other squads either released or disbanded them.

The new look Team Spirit are led by Mihail “Misha” Agatov, and recently managed to qualify for the MDL Chengdu Major ahead of teams like Natus Vincere and Virtus Pro. Team Spirit fans should err on the side of caution around this signing however. In the past, Team Spirit has had a less than stellar track record with regards to rosters. Most recently Old But Gold.

OBG, CIS veterans that are very popular in Dota 2, were dropped by TS before really being given much of a chance to reach their potential. Fortunately however, for Spirit fans, Misha, Igor “iLTW” Filatov, and Alexander “Immersion” Hmelevskoy are versatile players who have recently played for some rather prominent organisations on the Dota Pro Circuit.

The Positive Guys squad comes into a team with a guaranteed spot at the first Major of the season. The MDL Chengdu Major will begin on November the 16th, so Misha and his team will have some time to get settled and familiar before they need to really test their mettle.
