The Pittsburgh Knights announced this week that they have recruited Rocket League team, The Peeps and will be entering the RLCS Season 8. The esports organisation has continued its recent expansion by adding the members of the Peeps’ roster to their own, the first iteration of a Rocket League Team for the Pittsburgh Knights.

The Pittsburgh Knights have added a Rocket League team to their esports organisation, having this week recruited Rocket League team the Peeps. The Knights chose Rocket League for very specific reasons; in order to appeal to a diverse range of sponsors and to try to connect to a younger audience. As well as this the esports organisation has Olympic aspirations, the esport having recently been added to the Olympic circuit.

The Pittsburgh Knights chose the Peeps, after they recently won the 2019 DreamHack Pro Circuit in Montreal held back in September. This was the fourth stop in the DreamHack Pro Circuit and saw 32 pro Rocket League teams battle it out for their share of the $100,000 USD prize pool.

The Peeps took home half of that for their first prize win, after beating G2 Esports in the Grand Finale to up their total earnings to just over $75,000. The roster which is made up of Jirair ‘ExplosiveGyro’ Papazian, Slater ‘Retals’ Thomas, Nick ‘mist’ Costello and coach Julian ‘Moopy’ Amador all moved to the Pittsburgh Knights roster, (maybe they will be called the Pittsburgh Peeps) and will represent the Pennsylvanian team going forward in the Rocket League Championship Series.

Here is a video released by the Knights welcoming the Peeps to their organisation, and there is a lot to be excited about. Check out the video here.
